I cannot live without books.–Thomas Jefferson

Meet Your Teacher

My name is Kim Iske, and I will be your guide through the wonderful world of 8th grade Reading!  This is my fifth year in White Oak, and it will be my 28th year in education.  I hold a BS in Education and an MA in English from the University of Texas at Tyler.  I have taught across Texas in school districts such as Athens, Elysian Fields, Bay City, Stephenville, Grapeland, Scurry-Rosser, and Gladewater, and I have taught in all grade levels except for Kindergarten, 1st, 4th, 10th, and 12th.  If I had to pick a favorite grade to teach, it would be 8th.

I grew up in Grand Saline where I met and married my high school sweetheart, Kris.  We have been married for 26 years, and we have two children:  Austin, who is a sophomore at TAMU, and Anna, who is a 7th grader at WOIS.  Kris is the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for the Roughnecks.

In my extra time, I enjoy reading, doing crafts, traveling, and spending time with my family.
